But one of the brilliant features of the Senate bill is that all the tax breaks they wrote for the wealthy buddies and corporations are "permanent," but the far-more-meager tax breaks for schmoes making less than $100,000 annually end after two or three years. Which means that while the wealthy get to keep (a lot) more money, the less fortunate will be hit with tax increases to keep the lights on for the country.
Apparently Sen. Cornyn doesn't think this is quite as brilliant as some of his colleagues think it is.

McCain did the same thing with the ACA repeal. Voted to bring it to the floor then gave it a big thumbs down.
