Because what you see in that simple piece of photoshop work is the Nazi mentality. If they deserved that, and if they come back again, they deserve whatever escalation ultimately comes their way, right?

What comes after pepper-spray that OWS plans to deploy against the police?

That pic was posted by someone simply to get under your skin.

because being hit this way has not deterred them, then (by the mentality of the photoshopper) they deserve whatever next escalation the police commit. And so on, until they're hauled off and disappeared for a while.

They sat compliant while the blue pigshit who doesn't deserve to wear a badge stepped over them and laced them with a jet of cop-grade pepper spray, which has over two times the potency of regular pepper spray.

Logically explain to me HOW they deserved that.

It's just typical of people like this; cowards hiding behind the anonymity of PostSecret.

Why did you choose that image from among all the other meaningless images. So, someone photoshopped a photo to include a crass statement. What makes that photo worth posting on DU? The site is inconsequential. Why not let stupid images die where they are?

I guess I just don't understand the utility of posting random images that express ugly ideas here or anywhere else. Why spread them?

I know that there is a meme going around that is you compare anything to the Nazis you lose the argument. Personally I reject that meme because there are so many things going on that are very much like what happened in Germany. Just rent or find the movie "Cabaret" and watch it very carefully. One could apply so much of that play and movie to what is going on today. It is really scary.

There are so many things that RW idiots and Republican believe today that were totally unthinkable and unmentionable for most of the 20th century. Drug testing for government assistance, ending child labor laws, ending minimum wages, letting people without health insurance die, etc, etc. RW and the GOP are public enemy number 1. What they support is unAmerican and unpatriotic. They disgrace the American flag they wave.

We have to face the fact that we are in a political and cultural civil war in this country. The GOP is pursuing an elminationist and exterminationist political agenda against anyone who does not believe in "The GOP Party Agenda". They are a bigger danger to freedom and democracy in this country than the terrorists ever were.

If the GOP gains control as a vet as far as I am concerned our veterans have wasted their time and their lives for what the GOP wants for this country. What they want has absolutely nothing to do with freedom or democracy. It has everything to do with a totalitrarian theocratic one party government.

When you rig the vote so that only Republicans will be able to vote, they you are committing treason against the flag and the government of the United States. Start calling them on their "election fraud" schemes and "occupy the vote". All of their reasons for voter ID and vote rigging are vicious despicable lies.

They have declared war on democracy and we must understand that.

That cop might as well be a Republican politician.

For all of the support the GOP reportedly throw to "our troops" they sure have a funny way of showing it by all of the social services that benefit veterans they choose to cut with their votes. Just ask John McCain.

Godwin's Law came into play in the early days of the Internet, when it was mostly computer geeks having flame-wars over various hardware and software issues - Windows vs. Linux, vi vs. emacs. And of course, some numbnut from the emacs camp would call a vi guy a nazi, or vice versa, which is why Mike Godwin made his famous observation "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."

Of course, now, we're not talking about text editors, programming languages, kernel multitasking schedulers or any other technological minutia.

We're talking politics, and we're talking about laws that strip people's civil rights from them. And in this case, I think the Nazi analogy is perfectly reasonable to use.

Gee, what did that book say about high RWAs and the need to punish?

".....they’d send just about anyone to jail for a longer time than most people
would, from those who spit on the sidewalk to rapists. However, as noted earlier,
authoritarian followers usually would go easy on authorities who commit crimes, and
they similarly make allowances for someone who attacks a victim the authoritarian is
prejudiced against. "
