How Long Have They Been Setting Up Gillibrand for 2020?

I remember a lot of posts on DU throughout the year about who should run in 2020, but I don't recall ever seeing her name. Duers are usually ahead of the trends, so I take this to mean that she is a fairly recent phenomenon. Have I just not been paying attention?

Hyperbole Much.

You must think my senator, Bill Nelson, is a fascist!

Never let your anger at someone lead you to making ridiculous accusations.

I do not think much of her either, but ultra conservative? Come on, man.

Estate tax[edit]
On several occasions, Nelson has voted to reduce or eliminate the estate tax,[45] notably in June 2006, when he was one of four Democrats voting for a failed (57–41) cloture motion on a bill to eliminate the tax.[46]

Withholding funding from the CIA[edit]
In 2007, Nelson was the only Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee to vote against an amendment to withhold funds for CIA use of enhanced interrogation techniques on terrorism suspects. His vote, combined with those of all Republican members of the committee, killed the measure.[47]

so pro torture and wants to eliminate the estate tax ,while i wouldn't call fascist, ultra conservative works

And you are obviously outside of the mainstream of democratic party members if you think Bill Nelson is a conservative. No, wait, ultra conservative as you said.

Regardless, Bernie Sanders type candidates will never win in states like Florida. Won’t even when the Democratic primary for that matter. And thank God for that. Nelson has done a good job representing his state.

I’m thinking there are no elected officials who pass your muster.

He must be doing something right.

On edit- I must be getting old. Obama won it twice. However I'm pretty sure a Democrat, beside Bill Nelson, hasn't won a senate race, a gubernatorial race, or a cabinet race this century.

I do think Gwen Graham has a good shot. The Graham brand used to be gold in Florida. The problem is it's such a transient state there are many newcomers who don't remember what a good senator and governor Bob Graham was.

it was in the over votes....about 2/3s of 275,000 votes where the voter wrote in the candidates name and punched by his name, were for gore but the machines kicked them out...can't vote twice on 1 ballot

gore was conceding just as lance de haven smith was presenting the overvote theory

so sad

i would really hate to lose bama because the machines say we did

And consider the term blue dog a slur on Democratic members who someone disagrees with so I am not convinced.

Come on man.(or woman) I did not call her a conservative. Convince me she is a conservative. She pro-life? Support the republican tax bill? Against net neutrality? Must be something for her to be a conservative.

Here is hint. Not every member of the Democratic Party who disagrees with your positions is a conservative. And if you jettison them from the party we will always lose.

Many saw Gillibrand as moderate or conservative. The American Conservative stated after her eventual victory, "Gillibrand won her upstate New York district by running to the right: she campaigned against amnesty for illegal immigrants, promised to restore fiscal responsibility to Washington, and pledged to protect gun rights."[24]

Wayne Hynum I also wonder, do you really it is "democratic" for a handful of Senators to nullfy the votes of over a million Minnesota voters? Shouldn't it be up to the people of Minnesota? Franken represented them, not you. It looks like you have joined the authoritarian movement.

Wayne Hynum Hey Kirsten Gillibrand. I suddenly remember you touched my butt several years ago. It was so humiliating. Several other men say they remember you touching them too. So resign your Senate seat immediately! See how easy it is for people to make false allegations? That's why you don't force someone out without giving them the chance to have a hearing and defend themselves.

If she barely squeaks by for both her nomination and the general election next year, she'll be off the list, for sure.
