Governor Dismisses Math, with "Bogus" on Healthcare Jobs' Creation

Ironic the governor brags about how long he attended school (24 years) to become a doctor, yet he's so mathematically, and logically challenged.

First he uses the usual conservative tactic of "dismissal." He doesn't like the study, and says "It's bogus," with nothing to back it up.

In lame attempts to back it up, he says "you don't create nurses or doctors right away, it takes time," which has several problems. One of them is the assumption that there are no doctors or nurses that are unemployed. My nieces difficulty finding a job as a nurse, attests that to be completely wrong. I have no doubt there are doctors out there that need a job as well.

A second huge problem with our governor's reasoning is, doctors and nurses are just a small portion of the jobs available. I'm sure for every doctor and nurse, there are a few other jobs, administrators, cleanup, janitors, stocking, people who maintain the equipment--the list is long.

A third problem is he assumes the patient flow is the same. Clearly if people were insured with Medicaid up to $15,000 (133% of poverty level) we'd have way more patients, and would need more hiring. Any ex-burger manager would tell you you'll need to increase the number of people the more business you get--more patients equal more business.

At some point after unconvincing arguments above, he admits it was entirely an ideological decision, and he believed "people" (like we, us, Americans, wide-open to definition, his people ain't my people) don't like it. I'd like it, others without care would like it.

Clearly the governor just doesn't give a shit that he turned down government money, or that it would have created jobs, and helped the poor as well--the poor of all colors, by the way governor. Add to that, the hospitals are all going to be hurt as well, by indigent care, and people are going to literally die without the availability of preventative care.

The worst thing is, it doesn't cost us a penny, then it'd only cost us 10 percent of the total care. He wants to see "how it'll play out," while actively trying to STOP the bill, like most of the other southern governors. We need to get these right-wingers out of office who are intent on killing us all.

Yes, it would help a bunch of poor white people, but they are expendable to keep Blacks and Hispanics from getting needed health coverage. I really think these cretins - and those who elect them - hope the poor move to another state.
