Marion Blank, Ph.D., is a developmental psychologist and an internationally recognized pioneer in the field of language education for children with learning disabilities. She is a member of the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University and is former Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Rutgers Medical School. She is the author of The Reading Remedy: Six Essential Skills That Will Turn Your Child into a Reader and has published over 60 articles and book chapters on language disabilities. She is the designer of the widely used language software programs The Sentence Master and Reading Kingdom and one of the creators of the Preschool Learning Assessment Instrument, a leading neuropsychological test for the diagnosis of learning disabilities in young children. She has been associated as editor and author with numerous journals and publications, including Child Development, Journal of Applied Psycholinguistics, and Topics in Learning and Language Disabilities.

Rupert is author of The Horse Boy, which tells the story of his and his wife's journey across Mongolia on horseback to find healing for their son and for themselves as a family. Rupert Isaacson was born in London to a South African mother and a Zimbabwean father. Isaacson's first book, The Healing Land: The Bushmen and the Kalahari Desert (Grove Press), was a 2004 New York Times Notable Book.
His journalism and travel writing has appeared in the Daily Telegraph, Esquire, National Geographic, Independent on Sunday, Conde Nast Traveller, Daily Mail and The Field. He has traveled extensively in Africa, Asia, and North America and now lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Kristin, and their son, Rowan. In addition to being an ex-professional horse trainer, Rupert is founding director of the Indigenous Land Rights Fund, a non-profit organization that helps threatened and displaced indigenous tribes obtain tenure of their ancestral land.
Rupert has just signed the contract for the follow up book to The Horse Boy - The Long Ride Home - which tells the story of everything that has happened since Mongolia.

After a successful professional musical career touring across the U.S., Sarah and Will Mason settled back into Birmingham, Alabama, in 2007 with a desire to teach and train students to learn and love music.
After five years of teaching in-home lessons, the Masons opened their first official studio in Cahaba Heights in 2012. Mason Music has since grown to now include a second studio in Mountain Brook Village, which opened in September of 2013.
Sarah Mason’s educational training involved children with autism. Sarah attended UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance where she graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Music. Because of her interest in music therapy, many of her classes focused on this specific field. While at UMKC, Sarah taught piano to children on the autism spectrum, which ignited a passion to build a program geared towards educating children with autism and special needs.
This passion inspired Sarah and Will to develop educational programs within Mason Music where children with autism or other special needs can be integrated into the community along with other students to work together in bands and groups. Sarah, Will and the Mason Music team are proud to be a place where every family can feel accepted.

Thalia Michelle, MFA (also known as Tex TMR) is a co-author of the book "The Thinking Moms Revolution" and co-founder a blog and LLC by the same name. The book is a collection of stories of autism families and their struggles and triumphs in trying to recover their children's health. Thalia is mother to b/g twins, Lance and Trinity. Lance was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2008 at the age of three, and Thalia has been on a mission to restore his health and help him reach his highest potential ever since. As a professional actress on screen and stage, Thalia worked directly alongside Jane Fonda in creating the Performing Arts Program for Youth (PAPY) in Atlanta, Ga. The program continues to serve under privileged youth with a mission of teaching life skills through drama. Thalia's current work as an autism advocate includes speaking engagements, online media interviews, serving as video host and anchor for Autism One, and most currently, serving as co-producer of Horse Boy Fest and Rock 'n Horse Music Concert. Thalia's passion for permaculture and sustainable lifestyle choices drives her dream of someday opening a non-profit that would provide jobs for adults with autism by employing them to grow food using aquaponics in Austin, Texas and eventually to replicate the model around the globe.

Matthew Lyle Mooney is the author of A Story Unfinished which chronicles the life of his son, Eliot. He has been a guest on the Oprah Show and NBC Today. He and his wife, Ginny, founded 99 Balloons, a non-profit organization that engages individuals with disability locally and globally. He lives in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he busies himself raising Eliot’s siblings- Hazel, Anders and Lena. You can find his blog at theatypicallife.com.

Renee Plata received her Double Masters degree at Bank Street College in New York City. Renee has over 20 years of experience as a Special Educator. She has worked with children with a variety of disabilities. Renee has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders for the majority of her career. Renee’s experience includes consulting with families and school systems on cognitive, social, behavioral and IEP development. Renee is Level 1 DIR certified. She is also a parent of a young adult on the spectrum, which equips her with insight to address daily needs of our families.

Dr. Andrew Wakefield, MB, BS, FRCS, is an academic gastroenterologist. He received his medical degree from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School (part of the University of London) in 1981, one of the fourth generation of his family to have studied medicine at that teaching hospital. He pursued a career in gastrointestinal surgery with a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. He qualified as Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1985 and in 1996 was awarded a Wellcome Trust Traveling Fellowship to study small-intestinal transplantation in Toronto, Canada. He was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2001. He has published over 140 original scientific articles, book chapters, and invited scientific commentaries. In 2010 he helped to found Strategic Autism Initiative (SAI), a medical research charity dedicated to identifying the environmental causes for the current autism epidemic. He is co-founder of the Autism Media Channel, a TV and video production company that seeks to bring awareness and hope to those interested in childhood developmental disorders.
