Bibb County sheriff's death confirmed as suicide
A preliminary autopsy report confirms that Bibb County Sheriff Keith Hannah committed suicide in November by shooting himself in the head, District Attorney Michael Jackson said.
Hannah's body was found in a bathroom near his office after deputies received a call at 9 a.m. on Nov. 16. Investigators said the sheriff had a gunshot wound to the head.
Jackson said his office received the autopsy report earlier this week. He is still shocked by the death and is praying for Hannah's family.
Hannah, 50, had been with the sheriff's office for 29 years and joined the force when he was 21. His career as sheriff started in January 2003.
