Bee Gees star Robin Gibb wakes from coma: spokesman

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has woken from a coma and responded to members of his family, his spokesman said Saturday.

Gibb, 62, contracted pneumonia and fell into the coma last week. He is suffering from colon and liver cancer.

His spokesman Doug Wright said Gibb had been able to nod and communicate with family members who have been at his bedside at a hospital in west London.

5. Colon & liver cancer combination is fatal, I believe. There is no recovery.

Once it gets into your liver, that's super bad.

But hopefully he can hang on longer. He seems to be resilient so far.

So sad. Robin has a voice like an angel.

10. I have never known anyone with liver cancer,

but my Rottweiler was diagnosed with it and she died a few months later.

11. I have a friend whose dog has liver cancer. But Robin has colon cancer that has spread to his liver.

I think that's his situation. That means the colon cancer wasn't able to be cured.

I hate to say it but I think it is just giving him a little more time but.....

22. Not necessarily true. I was diagnosed with stage IV colon and liver

cancer just over a year ago. After extensive chemo I have been declared free and clear. It was a bitch, but you can recover. Last colonoscopy was good to go. Thank you VA. No insurance, can't afford it.

colon and liver cancer. But here's hoping he has as good a quality of life as possible as he nears the end.
