Rubio: George W. Bush ‘did a fantastic job as president’

By David Edwards
Sunday, April 22, 2012 13:16 EDT

Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio on Sunday refused to explain how a potential Romney administration would be different from George W. Bush’s administration, but insisted that the last Republican president “did a fantastic job” and his brother, former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL), would be a “fantastic vice president.”

“I haven’t gone through the comparison,” Rubio told CNN’s Candy Crowley. “I think that presidents serve in different times with different challenges. And so I think that George W. Bush, in my opinion, did a fantastic job as president over eight years, facing a set of circumstances during those eight years that are different from the circumstances that a President Romney would face.”

Last week, Jeb Bush told Newsmax that he would “consider” a vice presidential nomination, but suggested Rubio was “probably the best” choice.

“Well, that’s very nice of Jeb,” Rubio said on Sunday. “I hope he’ll say yes if future President Romney asks him,” adding that the former Florida governor would be a “fantastic vice president.”

We spent a couple months of the 2008 presidential campaign with the media legitimizing the republican's screaming about how Barrack Obama was a "celebrity!" as a means of trying to de-legitimize him.

Of course, that ended when Palin was picked and she was an an immediate STAR!>

But, there is a never ending string of republicans that the "liberal media" breathlessly labels stars - Ryan, Christie ...

Republicans live in a parallel universe from us. It's incredible that they believe that a man who thoroughly eliminated a surplus and boosted our unemployment rate was more competent than a man who helped us experience 25 consecutive months of job growth and bailed out our auto industry.

Hurricane Katrina? Positioning Jeb as VP to follow Mittens, should he be elected, is so wrong. Why won't this administration put Bush and Cheney in the docket for war crimes? Hopefully this would make the whole Bush family disappear from the political scene once and for all.

They hope if they continue to tell the same lie over and over again history will change itself. For a group that claims to be Christian I think that mentality is evidence of "heresy" at best.

GWB was the worst president at least in my lifetime. He took a surplus and left us with an economy in tatters, a bulging deficit (as opposed to his sock-stuffed flight suit in his "Mission Accomplished" theatrical stunt), responsible for 9-11, responsible for botching the Afghan war and not getting OBL will starting a totally indefensible war against Iraq, letting New Orleans drown, decimating the U.S. Constitution, alienating nations worldwide and being a general clown on stage.

Yeah, Marco, you may be cute but you are either lying through your teeth or you need to have your head examined.

can I say TWILIGHT ZONE wherein there is an alternate universe in wacko land. No matter who the gop establishment choose for Mittens VP, they are going to to wacked. You have Daniels stating that Mittens do not need women and latino voters, so am guess ing that they truly believe in their sick ass minds that the voter suppression laws will work as well as Citizens United un-American ruling that the 5 surpreme court justices voted on.

Seems like every 40 years or so you have the "oligarchy" trying to destroy America.

if you are an oil man, a war racketeer, or just a plain old millionaire, or just plain stupid. George and his mob did a fantastic job. Just pulling off the coup that put him in power had to be very impressive to many.

the only think that they can do now to top in is have Jeb become Mitt's running mate and then have something happen to Mitt that would result in another Bush who was never elected. If I can imagine it, they can do it.

It would require another rigged election, but that didn't present much of a problem in 2000 or 2004.

No reason for him to strap himself onto a chair on the Titanic. If the issue is profile, he can get it on his own next time, not as second fiddle for a campaign that will be savaged in the press and go down to a 3-5 point defeat.
