Huckabee: Gay-Rights Movement 'Won't Stop Until There Are No Churches'

Source: TPM

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) said on Wednesday that gay-rights activists wouldn't be satisfied until there are no more churches or Christians in America.

“It won’t stop until there are no more churches, until there are no more people who are spreading the Gospel,” Huckabee said on a right-wing radio program while discussing the backlash against anti-gay religious-freedom legislation in Arkansas and Indiana.

"I’m talking now about the unabridged, unapologetic Gospel that is really God’s truth," he said.

Huckabee made the remarks during an appearance on the conservative Family Research Council radio program “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins." Earlier in the program, he accused critics of the legislation of engaging in "true discrimination" and seizing on a "manufactured" crisis.

What's sad is that Huckabee used to be a better man than that. The hunger for power and position within the Party of Hate has tempted him away from what is supposed to be a philosophy of love and redemption.

Is it desperation on the part of all these nutjobs or what? There is no way they are going to stop progress in regard to this issue. The constant lashing out at non-existent threats would be comical if they didn't have all their gerrymadered cohorts in state legislatures across the country.

Huck is a real piece of work, in '92 he was wanting to put people with HIV in quarantine camps. This is years after everyone knew the parameters of transmission and even Ronald Reagan had said there was no risk of transmission from casual contact. There was absolutely nothing behind his words but hate, and when he was called out on that in 2012 he defended his statements.

that they eventually gave up their hatred of the idea of a round earth that revolves 'round the sun, and the eating of shellfish, and the wearing clothing of made of mixed fabrics, etc.

If they refuse to, then they simply will be 'at odds' with gay people. Forever.

See, those people afflicted with those challenges have to overcome them to show how great they are to God.

Because somehow, an omniscient being wouldn't be able to tell how great someone is unless there was a painful and difficult test.

Mr. Huckabee, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Wow, gays can do what adulterating drunken whoremonger whisperers could never do while fornicating and bearing false witness.

Who would think simply 'being gay' could wipe out churches in such a short time with so little effort?

Um, hang on, I'm trying to look up relevant verses now. Huh, it seems Jesus never addressed the issue directly. But surely Jesus WOULD HAVE hated gay people, since his teachings were all about who we should hate. Like it says in Matthew . . . okay, I couldn't find anything in Matthew, or Mark, or Luke, or John. I don't think this concordance website is working right.

Well, never mind, everybody knows the Bible has a liberal bias.
