Obama's advice to Walker: ‘Bone up on foreign policy’
Source: The Hill
President Obama has sharp words for Gov. Scott Walker (R-Wis.) over the 2016 White House hopefuls criticism of the multilateral deal on Irans nuclear program, telling him to bone up on foreign policy.
And, you know, I am confident that any president who gets elected will be knowledgeable enough about foreign policy and knowledgeable enough about the traditions and precedents of presidential power that they won't start calling to question the capacity of the executive branch of the United States to enter into agreements with other countries, Obama said Monday during an interview with NPR News.
It would be a foolish approach to take, and, you know, perhaps Mr. Walker, after he's taken some time to bone up on foreign policy, will feel the same way.

(5,103 posts)I am glad Wisconsin lost last night, denying Walker his podium appearance.
This jerk is gutting the school system and does not deserve any coattail recognition.
I doubt he could find Latvia if we fronted him Lithuiania and Estonia!
Nice smackdown Mr. President!

This is an astonishingly good Iran deal
by Max Fisher
When Aaron Stein was studying nuclear non-proliferation at Middlebury University's Monterey graduate program, the students would sometimes construct what they thought would be the best possible nuclear inspection and monitoring regimes.
Years later, Stein is now a Middle East and nuclear proliferation expert with the Royal United Services Institute. And he says that the Iran nuclear framework agreement, announced on Thursday, look an awful lot like those ideal hypotheticals he'd put together in grad school.
"When I was doing my non-proliferation training at Monterey, this is the type of inspection regime that we would dream up in our heads," he said. "We would hope that this would be the way to actually verify all enrichment programs, but thought that would never be feasible."
"If these are the parameters by which the will be signed, then this is an excellent deal," Stein concluded.

(10,252 posts)he has enough humility to see that there's always room for improvement. And you know what would improve itn the most? Support and respect from GOP traitors, racists, and war-mongers. Don't you agree?

(3,974 posts)He has been crafting and speaking in manipulative talking points since his single minded focus on politics began in his teenage years and there is zero chance he is going to change now. The "cram sessions" his handlers have been making him attend are only to give him basic facts and "zinger" talking points about campaign issues. At this point in his life, it's too late to teach him (or have him "bone up" on) what he should have learned since graduating from high school.
He is an ambitious, ruthless, dishonest, and very focused career politician, but not so much a thinker or motivated learner. Someone should ask him what books he's read recently... or ever.

Walker has the sarcasm, but the wit - not so much.

Just get out there on that stage and tap dance around the tough questions about complex issues, intersperced with whatever outrageous disrespectful crap about Obama that pops into that undisciplined ad hoc vacuum called your mind. Careful thoughtfulness -- who needs that?
