Russia denies striking gas deal to net Greece €5bn

Russia has denied providing up to €5bn to Greece for a planned gas pipeline running through the country in a move that would significantly ease Athens' cash crisis.

According to reports in Der Spiegel quoting a senior Syriza party official, Moscow was ready to provide advanced payment to Greece in assent for its "Turkish Stream" project.

The magazine quoted the minister as saying the deal would "turn the tide" for the debt-stricken country, and could be signed as early as Tuesday.

However, the Kremlin later denied it has reached an agreement to pay Greece in advance of future profits from transit fees.

for help are, hopefully, considering that Greece is going to find friends and help from someplace else if they don't provide it.
