Georgia teacher to retire after blasting Obama to students

DUBLIN, Ga. (AP) — A central Georgia middle school teacher who criticized President Barack Obama and his supporters in front of students has been removed from the classroom, pending her upcoming retirement.

The Dublin Courier Herald reported Tuesday that city schools superintendent Chuck Ledbetter announced that Nancy Perry will no longer teach students at Dublin Middle School and will retire at the end of the year.

Ledbetter said Perry was already planning on retiring before a student's parents accused the teacher in March of telling her class Obama is Muslim and Christians shouldn't support him.

"On behalf of the School District, we want to apologize to the student and to his parents," Ledbetter said at a school board meeting. "It is not the place of teachers to attempt to persuade students about religious or political beliefs."

although I'm not sure how to FIND it. Obviously we disagreed on the post that was alerted on, but I do want to say that I'm sorry to hear about your disability. My dad was also 100%. He did 22 yrs in the AF. My mother was one of the original female members of the AF after it was formed. She's 87 and says she'd go back in today if they'd let her! I did 10 years; lucky for me I was never in an active war zone. Thank YOU for stepping up. I hope you're getting what you should from the VA. I know from my dad that there are some benefits available that you have to dig to find. A few we didnt know about until after he died earlier this year.

Ledbetter also apologized for the actions of Perry's husband, Bill Perry, who is a member of the city's School Board and attended a parent-teacher conference after the parents complained. Looks like Bill was at the meeting in order to intimidate Scott into silence while Nancy, with her shit-eating grin, kept passing anti-Obama literature to Scott. I hope the Perrys are happy with themselves.
