I find it fitting that his capitulation to them, his going along with them, his not standing up to them - has made all those nice loud speculations about him being president someday just evaporate into thin air. You sacrificed not only your soul but whatever might have been left of your political future, colin. You let them finish you. Was it worth it?

I used to respect colin powell. Not anymore. He could have made a HUGE statement by refusing to carry their water at the UN. Hell, with his clout at that time, he might even have thrown an unremovable monkey wrench into their eagerly-pushed and long-desired war plans. He didn't want to, initially, but went along anyway.
