Louie Gohmert Sounds The Alarm About Possible Military Takeover Of Texas
Source: Talking Points Memo
Tea party darling Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) on Tuesday demanded that the U.S. military alter a planned training exercise that some conspiracy theorists believe is cover for a possible takeover of the Lone Star state.
Gohmert said in a statement that he understands Texans' concerns that the exercise, dubbed "Jade Helm 15," may be a precursor for martial law. He directed his criticism specifically at what has been reported to be a map of the training exercise, which labels Texas, among other states, as "hostile" territory:
"Once I observed the map depicting hostile, permissive, and uncertain states and locations, I was rather appalled that the hostile areas amazingly have a Republican majority, cling to their guns and religion, and believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution," Gohmert said in the statement.
"Such labeling by a government that is normally not allowed to use military force against its own citizens is an affront to the residents of that particular state considered as 'hostile,' as if the government is trying to provoke a fight with them," he later added. . .

(9,461 posts)soldiers will have to make their way out of "hostile" territory and into "permissive" territory as part of the exercise. They will probably have to travel at night and do other things that one would do if they were in a "hostile" area or behind enemy lines.
I read that the guy who designed this exercise is from a small town in Texas and saw this as a way to generate income for his old hometown. (In addition to having the terrain & climate needed). It was probably easier for him to plan much of this if he was familiar with the area. This isn't rocket science Louie.

Jamastiene
(38,187 posts)With gallstones, they put you on a table, stick a bunch of tubes in your belly, blow your belly up, suck out the gallbladder altogether, and destroy your figure for life. I haven't been able to contain all the hernias and other hideousness since having my gallbladder taken out. They told me to do situps starting the minute they were done operating on me. They kept making me get up and walk and do situps. They told me to keep doing them. I have hernias now everywhere they inserted a tube for the operation. I used to be so skinny and had such a nice belly. Gallstones are like children. They give you hernias and destroy your figure.
I wish it had been constipation, like this Louie guy is for Texas. I hope Texas can pass him soon and get some relief.

To prevent any further chances of the USA taking over Texas I think starting immediately we should start moving all military installations, equipment, and personnel into other parts of the country leaving Texas worry free from invasion by the USA and placing the burden of supporting the US military on parts of the Country that are more deserving of being invaded by their own Country. The lost revenue for Texas shouldn't be over a few billion a year, every year.

(38,187 posts)the southern central part of the state would be in permanent turmoil. There are booming sounds as I type this. It's called training exercises. Special Forces, the UN, Camp Mackall, Fort Bragg and Pope all do some of their training in my county to the southwest of them and in some of the other counties nearby. It is make believe so that soldiers can learn what to do in different scenarios.
Does this guy not understand the concept of training exercises? I guess this article sort of answers that question. You'd think it would be a requirement that government employees at least be somewhat intelligent enough to understand very simple concepts.

It sometimes seems like there's a grand collaboration between the media and the Republican Party to see how far they can lead the people of this country into brainless, paranoid absurdity. I personally know people who believe in ancient aliens, believe Obama is plotting to take over the country in some kinda Nazi Commie revolution, deny climate change theory and evolution, and are allowed to walk around loose and vote and everything.

There may well be a National Guard exercise called Jade Helm. Thus far, no one has seen anyone, nothing has happened and we can assure you this, nothing will happen. The whole thing is a hoax, part of the grand fear porn game.
Anyone spreading wild Jade Helm rumors, originated as Zio-Neocon talking points sent out to their paid bloggers, is going to have to sit in the corner with a tin foil hat for some time. We are talking a dozen states with 1200 of our own troops. Were it 60,000 we would at least see a rise in business at fast food restaurants and whore houses.
