Carson Warns 'More Groups' Will Want Marriage Equality If Gays Get It
Source: TPM
Republican presidential candidate and former neurosurgeon Ben Carson warned that if the definition of marriage were changed to include gay couples, it would also have to be changed to incorporate other types of unions.
But Carson, in an interview with CBNC's John Harwood, wouldn't elaborate on what other "groups" would be allowed to marry. Carson started out saying if you "change the definition of marriage for one group, what do you say to the next group?"
"What is the next group?" Harwood interjected.
"Do you say, 'well we changed it for this group but that's it, we're not changing it for anybody else?" Carson asked. "Does that seem fair?"
"Well, but what other groups are there?" Harwood asked.
"There are more groups, I guarantee," Carson said. "I think you know there are more groups. Everybody knows there are more groups."
"Honest to God, I don't know what you're talking about," Harwood said.

No, this is what we call pandering. Carson is fully aware that he is totally full of shit. If he weren't, he would have some ready examples of these 'other groups,' and he would be more than happy to tellyou about them. He knows that his opposition is unbased and simple demagoguery, but he also knows that it sells, because above all else, Ben Carson is a salesman. So he'll say just enough to sell, but not enough to genuinely be considered a lunatic.

They knew nothing, really, except how to use the law to further their political agenda. And ambitious, scheming little fuckwads like monica goodling wound up having to testify before Congress and having to admit how their vote-caging, and political purging of some state prosecutors and hiring others - simply on a pure partisan basis - was "crossing the line."
Goodling also testified on Wednesday that she may have gone "too far" and inadvertently "crossed the line" in asking political questions of applicants for nonpolitical jobs at the Department of Justice. Goodling testified that she acted in good faith but that she "may have taken inappropriate considerations into account" when reviewing applications for career positions.

He believes 9/11 was an inside job (in which controlled explosions by our government brought down the towers). My mother, who doesn't come across quite as intelligent as he, nevertheless is very knowledgeable. They are both impressive, for example, when it comes to knowing the answers to Jeopardy. They read a lot. Both are into Alex Jones type conspiracy theories.
It's not just what you know, it's what you choose to believe.

(6,409 posts)Odd that some people (like Carson) think we can't draw a line when it comes to marriage. They have no trouble drawing a clear, bright, very firm line at one man and one woman. They do have a little trouble explaining why God wanted it that way, but they have no trouble drawing the line. Now the line has moved, and marriage is a contract between one person and one other person. Big deal.
