BuzzFeed: 'Potentially Several Alleged Victims' In Hastert's Past

Source: Talking Points Memo

An anonymous source familiar with the case of former House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) said federal prosecutors knew of "prior misdeeds" Hastert committed against potentially several alleged victims that were not included in Thursday's indictment, BuzzFeed News reported Friday.

Around the same time and based on the accounts of two anonymous federal law enforcment officials, The Los Angeles Times reported that Hastert allegedly agreed to pay out $3.5 million in hush money to an unidentified man to compensate for sexual abuse that occurred while the former House speaker was working as a high school teacher and coach in Yorkville, Illinois.

BuzzFeed's anonymous source told the outlet that U.S. Attorney Zachary Fardon considered additional charges against Hastert in regards to an "Individual B," which ultimately were not pursued. No further charges are expected to be filed, the source told BuzzFeed.

especially if they've got a job that keeps them around the kiddies.

"Individual A" was the one smart enough to keep the letters or get some pictures, so he's the one who cashed in.

plus, he may not have declared that extra income. Tax evasion is frowned upon.

Hastert may only get charged with financial stuff, moving big money, not filing the proper 1099 forms to declare the payments to Person A.

Both could be in trouble, but would a prosecutor actually go after Person A? Depends on his politics.

according to sources, nothing new as to the real facts. For crying out loud, check the year books for photos, check the local sources at the local level. If this turd had been a Dem,give me a break, you would have the Family name, birthday and every thing else no mater what. Ever single channel we have watched today is just embellishing the same 5x3 card.

My bitch is the kiss ass press, thy would try to do in Clinton for a blow job,but old Boy raping kids gets a pass. No WTF,it is the Media being the lap dog's that is the WTF. You know damn well before this story hit the fan, there were others giving cover, that needed to get their stories straight. Nothing happens in a Vacuum. Sure smells like Penn State and we are now finding just how many power players were involved in the cover up with probably more to come. More to come with this bugger.

There was a barstool joke that winter in DC that went something like this: Hastert got the job because he was the only one not screwing other women, because he was screwing other boys.

And predates almost all of the "get tough on crime" era. The statute of limitations may have run out long ago.

If he could be charged, I strongly suspect the structuring charges would not be the first and only ones announced.

Had these cases been exposed in and around the 1999 time frame. Many Elections would have been just the opposite of what went down. Bush wacker would have lost buy a ton and the House of Representatives would have been Democratic by a huge margin and this would have been the GOP's total demise. Got a hunch there are more players to be exposed.
