REPORT: Obama Expected To Endorse Marriage Equality In ABC News Interview

Source: ThinkProgress

As President Obama prepares to sit down with ABC’s Robin Roberts this afternoon just hours after voters in North Carolina passed a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and civil unions, political reporters are predicting that he may finally complete his evolution and endorse the freedom to marry for gay and lesbian people.
“Every expectation that we will, within the next hour, be in a different world, where we will have a President of the United States who supports the legalization of gay marriage,” Mark Halperin said this afternoon during an appearance on MSNBC. “The Vice President, I think, forced his hand. But even before the Vice President spoke on Meet The Press in favor of gay marriage, the President was headed in this direction,” he added.

Just like he followed on ordering the SEALs to kill OBL?

Everyone knows that "even Jimmy Carter" would have ordered the SEALs to kill OBL. Does the "m" in your name stand for Mittens?

We're not dealing with rational people when dealing with the 60+% who voted for Amendment 1.

They either knew what they were voting for or didn't understand it and still voted for it regardless of the mountain of information out there regarding the matter.

We count on an informed and reasoned electorate in this country, but know that that is not always what we get. The President knows this.

Bigotry and hatred know this as well.

It is time to hold the 60+% accountable for their lack of humanity and ignorance, not the President.

The amendment was supported by a majority in the African American community because of what they heard at their churches. Maybe if Obama had his change of heart before the vote it may have come out differently.

That seems at least as important to me and has the backing of a lot more people.

So what's the problem?

Let's see if President Obama is asked about that issue.

It doesn't matter what he says or does.....as folks will still find something he didn't do just so......
and will find disappointment regardless.

Sounds a bit hyperbolic to my ears, if only in terms of the relative numbers involved.
Seems to me the 30 million+ citizens about to be affected by the Affordable Care Act might weigh more heavily in the final analysis.
