President of NARAL Pro-Choice America to step down at end of year

WASHINGTON -- Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, will step down at the end of this year, hoping a "new and younger leader" will take her post at the United States' oldest abortion rights advocacy group, the Washington Post reported Thursday.
"Roe v. Wade is 40 in January," Keenan, who is 60, told the paper. "It's time for a new leader to come in and, basically, be the person for the next 40 years of protecting reproductive choice."
Keenan was president of the group for eight years and will leave at a time when NARAL and other abortion rights organizations are trying to energize millennials about reproductive health issues.
