Patrick Murphy fundraising pitch likens Alan Grayson to Donald Trump

Source: Tampa Bay Times

Patrick Murphy's campaign compared rival Alan Grayson to Donald Trump in a fundraising email, the latest in an escalating fight between the Democratic U.S. Senate candidates.

Grayson hit back with a reminder that former Republican Murphy was among a handful of House Democrats to vote for a panel investigating Hillary Clinton over Benghazi.

"A Republican Romney backer who supported the Benghazi witch hunt? @PatrickMurphyFL has more in common with @realDonaldTrump," Grayson wrote on Twitter.

The only reason Murphy switched to Democrat - in 2012! - was so he could run against Allan West. That is the ONLY reason.

5. He's a typical FL Dem candidate.

The party here always supports DINO's who are in many ways more Repug than not, see Wasserman-Schultz. When faced with a real Repug vs. one who mainly acts like the Repugs but uses a different initial, they always chose the real thing. That's why Lawton Chiles was our last Dem governor. Nelson kept getting elected because of the astronaut thing, which is a big deal here.

11. There are other reasons for the failure of the Dems to win the governorship.

Take: THE VOTING MACHINES!

The voting machines in the US nowadays in almost every election show a "red shift," a higher vote for Repubs than would be indicated by the unadjusted exit polling or pre-election polls. I'm sure that's true in FL. I feel pretty sure that Scott is governor now at least to some degree because of the complicity of the voting machine companies. The problem is that IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW! Because the states almost uniformly DO NOT provide any procedure by which to verify the vote, a real and fair audit that would actually count enough votes to catch cheating even when the supposed result is a small margin, there is no way to know if the vote in a particular election has been rigged (pre-set or set in real time as in OH in 04).

VERIFY THE VOTE!

Dems only win these days when they win big because all the companies that make the voting machines are big Repug contributors, one was even a Bush "Pioneer" for many years. The US quit being a democracy in 2000 when the Supreme Court stopped the count and hand selected shrub as resident. Gore definitely won and with the voting irregularities in OH in 2004 think Kerry really won that year as well. First there was gerrymandering, then hacking or slanting the vote, then Citizens United sealed us into the oligarchy we've become. It's sickening.

It seems Murphy left the GOP about the same time that the Donald changed his registration.

Grayson's wife was already married before she enticed Alan.

Grayson is a fantastic Democrat and that is the only reason some here object to him.
