Italy top court: Knox conviction was based on poor case

Source: WBAY-TV, ABC affiliate in Green bay, WI

ROME (AP) — Italy’s top criminal court says it threw out murder convictions against Amanda Knox and her former Italian boyfriend because there was absolutely no proof they were at the scene of her British roommate’s slaying.

That "prosecution" was a joke.

We are exactly the same as the Italians. The only difference is at least they are honest about the condition of their courts. We like to pretend we are superior.

They will never have closure - all because a misogynist, overzealous prosecutor wanted a conviction.

I feel very sorry for them, and can't imagine what they've been through, but at some point they will have to open their eyes if they ever want some semblance of peace.

And sad to say, the real murderer is going to be out soon. Yeah, the Kerchers really got justice for their murdered daughter.

into her home. As if to invite a man into one's home is to make one (woman) guilty and responsible for her own rape/murder. It was easier for the Kerchers to believe in a Satanic Triangle than to accept that their daughter might have actually gone on dates and talked to men. There is a quote in the British press, the father insisting that his daughter was not the kind of woman who would invite a man home. You have to wonder if their daughter went to Italy to get away from this type of oppression.

And, yes, according to her friends, Meredith was sexually active, and was dating (hooking up?) with one of the guys growing pot downstairs.

The more the Kerchers could paint the scarlet letter on Amanda, the more angelic they could believe their daughter to be. Which is very, very sad, because by all accounts she was a lovely young woman in her own right.

It really bothers me that people think they can look at a photo of Amanda Knox and KNOW that she is a sociopath. That's scary. They are accusing the same young woman of being a sociopath who was given an award for "exhibiting extreme compassion" from her high school. That just does not compute!

At some point their brain is going to have to take control of their grief.

They could not win a lawsuit - not in the U.S., Italy, or Britain, since the truth is there in black and white for all to see.

Imo, the Kerchers need to let it go. They have managed to maintain an appearance of dignity while allowing the British tabloids to do their dirty work.

But from this point on, it's going to be more difficult not to judge them badly - despite their deep grief.

There was no proof that Amanda or Raffaele had been in Meredith's room. It was just ridiculous to claim they had somehow removed their DNA.

And the prosecution case changed. Didn't it start off as a sex game gone wrong? Then it became a case of Meredith getting mad at Amanda because she wasn't doing her fair share of the housekeeping. Oh, boy.

Of course, the prosecutor had some previous. Read The Monster of Florence by Preston and Spezi.
