Investigators in Indianapolis said that two shootings over the weekend that targeted the Latino community could be connected.

Brian Zaragoza, 14, told WXIN that he was walking home from the grocery store when he heard someone drive by yelling a racial slur — and that’s when he felt a sharp pain in his side.

“Out of nowhere I heard a whistling, kind of like a bottle rocket then I felt something hit my side and I just lurched forward,” Zaragoza recalled. “I didn’t actually think it was a bullet until I saw the x-rays.”

According to WXIN, a second shooting took place at a taco stand just minutes before Zaragoza was shot. The suspects reportedly aimed at an SUV with an adult and two children inside, but no one was injured. ..............

They will blame everyone but the individual responsible and the racists he learned this language from.

Other than happening in the same town, involved guns, and against Hispanics, one of these crimes ain't like the others. One was clearly a robbery, the other two were possible hate crimes, they used different vehicles, and they offer no physical description of the suspects in the drive-by or taco stand aside from the presence of children. If it was just about gun violence, why not include the club shooting as well. I'm sure there were a few Mexicans there too.

I'll give you three guesses why, and the first two don't count.

I seriously doubt it, but I was just thinking "what would GW say"? As he did actually use that phrase in public referring to Bin Laden, some time in the aftermath of 9/11.

It's a shame GW and Co. completely lost interest in "getting those bastards that did this to us" and invaded Iraq instead.

Which reminds me of a wonderful long ago meme: "GW invading Iraq after 9/11 is like FDR invading New Zealand after Pearl Harbor."
