NBA MVP Moses Malone dies at 60

Three-time NBA MVP and Pro Basketball Hall of Famer Moses Malone has died Sunday at the age of 60.
Malone, named one of the NBA's 50 greatest players, was the Finals MVP as he led the Philadelphia 76ers to the 1983 championship.
The 6-foot-10 center, nicknamed the "Chairman of the Boards," averaged a double-double while playing for eight teams over 20 NBA seasons and led the league in rebounding six times. The 12-time All-Star averaged 20.6 points per game and 12.2 rebounds over his career.

RIP Moses Malone. LOVED watching him play and he REMAINS one of the NBA All-Time Greats.....

(17,184 posts)It's appalling to me the number of athletes in various sports who die relatively young. I wonder what checks they're writing that their bodies won't be able to pay later.

(17,862 posts)that the 76s dominated the early 80s Lakers in the NBA Finals (swept 4-0 in 1983). Being a Lakers fan I hated that series, but I admired that man - he was a great. Most Series in that era were competitive, but not that one.

I liked the Sixers to....Much rather LA lose to Philadelphia than Boston or Detroit..
