Scott Walker Said to Be Quitting Presidential Race

Source: New York Times

Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin has concluded he no longer has a path to the Republican presidential nomination and plans to drop out of the 2016 campaign, according to three Republicans familiar with his decision, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Mr. Walker called a news conference in Madison at 6 p.m. Eastern time.

“The short answer is money,” said a supporter of Mr. Walker’s who was briefed on the decision. “He’s made a decision not to limp into Iowa.”

Mr. Walker’s intended withdrawal is a humiliating climb down for a Republican governor once seen as all but politically invincible. He started the year at the top of the polls but has seen his position gradually deteriorate, amid the rise of Donald J. Trump’s populist campaign and repeated missteps by Mr. Walker himself.

Why would the Koch Brothers sink money in Walker in Wisconsin all these years? He's so dumb!

I guess like a horse race you put your money on several horses and spread your chances to win!
Well this race is OVER!

So Wisconsin, I think the Koch Brothers are threw with Scott Walker, so that's good news for you.
No more money spent on him for any kind of election!

He'll be dangling all by himself now. I doubt if the Koch's even take a phone call from Scott.

Gerrymandering for a Republican-dominated legislature that blocks all investigations, blocks voting reform, neuters non-partisan regulatory agencies that oversee the electoral process.....in effect, the Republican legislature has run roughshod over the entire democratic process here, making election manipulating possible, and making reform impossible, for the time being.

The same shenanigans made sure both the state Supreme Court and state Atty. General were Team Repub players.

Ultimately I believe the ticket will be Rubio/Fiorina.

I think probably Rubio because Carly's spectacular failure at HP would be hard to defend at the top of the ticket. For a VP its a bit easier because basically you just need to show competence, be an attack dog, and bring in some different types of voters.

1) If Walker had 0% support I don't know how much support anybody can
get from his followers.

b) Kasich is no good guy ..... he sold the State of Ohio public employees'
retirement fund $480 million worth of junk paper from Lehman Brothers and
when he got into office he was upset that there wasn't enough money in the
Public Emplyees' retirement fund.

Walker was the only Repug I was really worried about.

Bush is a Bush
Carson is unvetted (I suspect that of any of this gang of 8, he'll implode most dramatically)
Christie is an asshole
Fiorina is a failed CEO and outsourcer
Kasich is a..who's Kasich?
Paul is a quack
Rubio has no gravitas
Trump is a racist

Any of the above could win their nomination, but not the GE

IMO, Cruz, Huckabee, Santorum, and Graham have zero chance of taking their party nomination

Walker was the only one with a track record of success, and it warms my heart to see him give up so quickly. I hope he's broke - emotionally and politically.
