Poll finds a new top tier for New Hampshire GOP primary

Source: CNN

Donald Trump continues to hold a wide lead over his closest competitors in a new CNN/WMUR poll of New Hampshire voters, but shifts in the field since last week's Republican debate have created an entirely new top tier in the first-in-the-nation primary state.

Trump leads with 26% support among those who say they plan to vote in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary, about the same as in a July WMUR/UNH poll in the state. Second place now goes to businesswoman Carly Fiorina with 16%, third to Florida Sen. Marco Rubio with 9% and fourth to retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 8%. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who held second place in the July poll, stands at 7% now, and the candidate who previously held third place, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, has dropped out of the race entirely.

Trump is now seen as both the candidate most likely to win the New Hampshire primary early next year -- with 40% saying so, up from 25% in July -- and as the one with the best chance to win next November's general election, as 27% say he's best positioned to carry the electoral college.

As much as I'd LOVE to see this crazy m'fer get the nomination, the repuKKKe party will NEVER let it happen. They know he is a joke of pathetic sickness that is within the repuKKKe party, and he would be laughed off the ballot in every state - even the most hateful and red state.

The crazies have come out of the closet, because this pompous, egotistical pile of human feces in a skin has stepped forward to exemplify ALL the things they are thinking and they believe OUT LOUD; and they think it's safe to come out and proclaim their hateful, sick and twisted bigotry in the open at last. This sick side of the country thinks they are no longer alone with their mental illness.

But riense prebus (sp) is NOT going to let this happen. They'll find some rule to side-step this comb-over orangutan offspring; and he is nothing more than a prop to get the gop attention in an otherwise energy-less primary season. The rest of the clowns are fourth string batters. Not a one of them stands a spitting chance. They might as well spit into the fan in front of their face. LOSERS.

Now, the Democrats can still lose if THEY IGNORE Bernie Sanders. There is an outside chance that the Democrats can snatch defeat from victory if they refuse to support the progressive that is not only SAYING the right things now, but he's been saying them his whole political life. Hillary is making targeted, strategic statements to keep relevant and stay ahead of the repuKKKe clowns. Nothing more.

I WAS a Hillary fan, but we don't need to nominate JUST BECAUSE she is a woman, a Clinton, or did some great things for women's causes around the world. She is a strong character woman; but she IS NO PROGRESSIVE either - so don't get your hopes up on that one.

But I am not happy to see Fiorina rise in the polls. She really creeps me out. I think she might be sociopathic. And she is an outstanding debater.

I guess I'd just as soon see Trump take the nomination (if he can last that long without decompensating).

and take the nomination. Sadly, I think the likelihood is slim to none. Carly is too angry and caustic, with a terrible track record, to scare me much (beyond the moments I have to watch.)

I also think Bush would be easy to beat. The only one I'm scared of as a threat is Rubio.

And Rubio does seem the most palatable for regular Republicans, at this point. He seems a lot more attractive than Bush, in many ways, so would be tougher to beat in the general.

6. Fiorina's at her peak, which it far too early in the campaign to sustain.

None of these people has any chance of winning the general election, of course. This is all positioning for the primary or, as has been so humorously and accurately described, "the booby prize of the GOP nomination."

When you have a race with this many people started so early, people who peak early are doomed. She does get a bounce for the crazy, but it won't win her the nomination. In fact, there has been no nominee in either party in modern history that came from a background devoid of having held elected office. I suppose one could say Ike was the last one but, in a way, he was President of the world during the war.

Ever since he entered, and got all the big bucks thrown at him.

It has continued even though voters really don't like him. Although they are having a tough time keeping up the farce.
