Sanders Climbs to Double-Digit Lead Over Clinton in New Hampshire

Bernie Sanders is pulling away in the polls in New Hampshire.
The Vermont senator has opened up a wide, 16-point lead over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, according to a new CNN/WMUR/UNH poll released Thursday night.
Sanders garnered 46 percent support from likely New Hampshire Democratic primary voters, his highest support in the state yet this election cycle. Clinton earned only 30 percent support, her lowest in the state.
Over the last six weeks, Sanders has surged up 10 points, while Clinton has dropped 12 points.
It's part of a larger downward trend for Clinton over the last several months, as her use of a personal email server during her tenure as secretary of state continues to dominate the headlines. Her leads in both Iowa and New Hampshire have disappeared.

(68,868 posts)But, that the question is now "can Hillary defeat Bernie" instead of the other way around is head-spinning.
She's in a lot of trouble.

Book it.

(3,146 posts)Are you trying to say Bernie wouldn't win even VT? I'm not very hip, but I'm guessing "book it" means you want to be quoted as having made this prediction. Ok then. I'll hold you to it.

(68,868 posts)committing campaign blunders, this is all stuff beyond her control.
She hasn't shown any ability to shape the narrative of anything.

(5,275 posts)I trust him to at least attempt to do what he says he will do. Neither Bill Clinton or Obama did that. We need a real progressive in, an FDR type, and that's Bernie. Actually I would likely trust O'Malley or Lessig too but they have no chance.

(5,402 posts)Could it be (and I'm just tossing this out there), that few are buying the corporatist campaign product, the weak policy statements, and her constantly "evolving" stances on critical issues?

(5,400 posts)It's like the people running the Clinton campaign can't handle having to actually run in the primary. It appears they envisioned a "run silent, run deep" MO for this year and basically dodge the press on any embarrassing issues. They were prepping everything so as to have big staged moments while running against their Republican opponent.
It's a good thing to see this lack of flexibility being demonstrated. If Secretary Clinton is nominated she'll need much better than this from her campaign. This is partly why Vice President Biden is being persuaded to run. It serves notice to Secretary Clinton to put her ship in order, otherwise there's Plan Biden.

(24,979 posts)Clinton is tanking "as her use of a personal email server during her tenure as secretary of state continues to dominate the headlines."
Bullshit. That noise may be dominating headlines but it is not remotely the reason why potential primary voters - at this point still a well-informed group with high political motivation - are abandoning the Democrat from Wall Street. Her problem is that she offers NOTHING. It's all a fake marketing image masking a neoliberal legacy, and after 23 years of people can seen right through this shit.
