Polish army checks site of alleged tunnel with Nazi train

Source: AP

WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The Polish military has deployed chemical, radiation and explosives experts to a spot in southwestern Poland where a Nazi train missing since World War II could be.

Tomasz Smolarz, the governor of Lower Silesia, said Monday the aim of the work in Walbrzych is to exclude any danger for local residents. He said the experts began the technical checks Monday and will continue through Saturday.

The efforts come after two explorers claimed to have found a Nazi train trapped in a tunnel that they say could contain armaments and precious minerals.

Their claim awaits confirmation, but it has sparked hopes it could be a Nazi train laden with treasure that local legend says went missing at the end of World War II.

My family lost basically everything fleeing several years ahead of the real rise of the Nazis.

I'd like to see whatever this is go back to the families from whom it was stolen.

Also there were many families that were basically wiped out during the war.

People wouldn't go look if they didn't have a shot at making a buck.

Depends on the country, but it's 20-50%. I have zero issue with that.

Officially the Gustav gun was destroyed before 22 April 1945, but it and its Sister super cannon Dora, MIGHT have survived the war:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schwerer_Gustav

The report I read was based on Aerial Photos of what is believed to be the Gustav train, extra cars were attached as it left Konigsberg in the fall of 1944. The Amber Room was also in Konigsberg at the time, thus the suspicion that the Amber Room and the Gustav were on the same train.

This is all speculative until we have photos of what is in the actual caves, but if it is the Amber Room, it goes to Russia.
