Poll: Hillary Clinton still leads Sanders and Biden, but by less

Source: USA Today

Hillary Clinton continues to lead the Democratic field in a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll, but she no longer commands the support of a majority of Democrats as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Vice President Biden gain ground.

Clinton is backed by 41% of likely Democratic primary voters, a double-digit drop since the USA TODAY poll taken two months ago, and Sanders is supported by 23%, a jump. Biden is the choice of 20% even though he hasn't announced whether he will jump in the race.

By nearly 3-1, all those surveyed in the national poll predict that the controversy over her exclusive use of a private email server when she was secretary of State would hurt her prospects in a general election.

The poll of 1,000 likely voters, taken by phone Sept. 24-28, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The sample of 430 Democrats has an error margin of +/- 5 points.

Too much overconfidence sucks too. I will never forget how many people here said we would hold onto the House in 2010. Me? I'm realistic. We would crush Trump easily. Hil vs. Jeb or Rubio? I think they could possibly win. But she may, it would be close.

I think they were largely responsible for the results in the mid-term elections. It might have been a victory for the Repubs but I don't think there's any way it was the sweep they supposedly had. The voting machine companies are almost entirely owned and managed by right-wingers and they've learned thru the years now since anybody actually checked or verified the results of an election to tilt the results just enough to give the victory to their fellow right-wingers and not arouse the suspicions of the hoi-polloi, not that anybody would try to do anything so outrageous as verify the vote even if they were suspicious.

I have no idea why they can't DO something about the problems (really, gateley? I'm sure M.O.N.E.Y.) has nothing to do with it.

I get so frustrated that we continue to get run over and don't seem to fight back successfully.

But honestly, Dems do have a sorry rep for turning out for elections, especially mid-terms.

one of the republican candidates that were in the debates so far except Bush. Jeb Bush IS Hilliary Clinton- same person. And ultimately the truly evil people in all this. the other republicans including trump are simply dangerous halfwits. The republicans won't win because Roves Jerry rigging districts and voter suppression with the insane voter laws have been overturned.
The truth is, the legal south american imigrant citizens are now adding 1/2 a million new voters of age every year. The republicans will never win a popular vote again unless they appeal to imigrants. They just don't get that yet. Rove fully understood that, that was what all that jerry rigging and voter suppression was about. Texas is about to turn blue.

Polls now are still somewhat meaningless.... its still several months away from any primaries, a good year before the election. A lot can happen between now and then.... Hillary's email and Benghazi BS could implode on the GOP, Bernie Sanders could just totally take off, Biden could say no to the election, Trump could say 1 thing that will totally piss off every spooge that is voting for him, Bush, Carson, et. al could drop out..... sooo polls....not even watching...

be rallying for Bernie. Ultimately the Dems will rally for who has the best chance to win. I hope for the sake of the world, it will not be Hillary. She is not going to stop climate change, she is not going to stop wars. She's going to advance those two issues. She is the ogliarchs in charge who are bleeding us dry. So is Jeb Bush. Neither of them should win if you care about the world. The republican dimwit side show - trump saying what the rest of them also stand for, doesn't really have a chance. It's just a side show. The media know that and will continue to give him rope to hang himself, which he will do. He's fighting to outdo himself in outrageous reasons not to vote for him. he just needs to keep opening his assinine mouth.
