London police shoot man after Taser shocks 'had no effect'
Suspect taken to hospital after confrontation in which he was believed to be carrying a a knife, says Scotland Yard

The man was taken to hospital for treatment following the shooting in Kilburn Lane, Brent, north-west London, police said.
Officers had been called to a disturbance in Claremont Road, west London, at around 2.45am on Thursday and located a man believed to be in possession of a knife.
They attempted to detain the man but he fled and was followed to Kilburn Lane where he was shocked twice with the stun gun, but with no apparent effect, and subsequently shot, according to Scotland Yard.
A spokesman said: Officers discharged Taser but with no apparent effect on the man. Firearms officers attended in support of local officers and Taser was discharged, again with no apparent effect. The man was then shot by police.
