Spencer Stone, French Train Attack Hero, Stabbed in Sacramento

Source: NBC News

Spencer Stone, one of three Americans who helped foil a terror attack on a French train in August, was stabbed in Sacramento on Wednesday night, the U.S. Air Force confirmed to NBC News.

Airman First Class Stone was in stable condition on Thursday, an Air Force spokesperson said.

"He is alive and in stable condition at this time," the spokesperson said. "We do not have any information as to the events preceding the incident."

Ston was stabbed multiple times in the torso after a fight near some popular bars in downtown Sacramento, police told NBC affiliate KCRA.

... at the time of the Roseburg shooting where he'd been enrolled before instead going to be on Dancing With the Stars.

And this article notes Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler were both planning on joining Skarlatos back in Roseburg for solidarity with the shooting victims there too. Hope someone is also looking after Anthony Sadler's safety, in case these events are all connected in some really weird way.

According to this article, Sadler attends Cal State in Sacramento too.

And still hasn't really recovered from the Great Recession. Both the only city to feature a Rush Limbaugh-themed restaurant and a KKK White Pride newspaper office. Both were firebombed, but still...

The suburban white trash in this town are effing scary, lemmetellya.

Looks like the meth capital in the U.S. is in Oklahoma, and there are lots of other places much, much worse than Sacramento.

I'm curious about the Rush Limbaugh-themed restaurant. I've never heard of this. What's the name of the restaurant? I also don't know anything about a KKK newspaper in Sac. What is or was it called? I'm not saying these things don't exist, just that I've never heard of them (and I do know that Rush started out in Sacramento).

Dittos Café was the name of it. Lasted about ten minutes, if I recall.

Couldn't tell you about the KKK paper, usually those people hang out in Redding.

Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, Orangevale --

Rio Linda. My god, Rio Linda. They really believe all that stuff there. I done seen it. Confederate flags. Shotguns.

I live in what a man from Citrus Heights once called The People's Republic Of Davis, across the causeway. And I do so love it, even though some Vacaville ruffians just stabbed a man downtown recently. We also have one honorary Confederate Flag Guy, young guy, white pickup, drives it through the high school parking lot sometimes in a forlorn attempt to banish the hippies.

The White Pride office was somewhere in Midtown as well, in the mid-Eighties. Don't forget the high per capita rate of serial killings, and the extremely high tree count, the last of which is a good thing.

There's plenty of good people, and it's diverse. But the right wing is virulent in pockets. I have met them.

How do you know someone is from Davis? They will tell you how superior they are in every way and how everywhere else is a total shithole.

That and the high rate of eventual psychoses. Meth's not a long-term thing. Still, I see the signs around me.

Perhaps they just don't understand the basic chemistry in Oklahoma. You know. 'I thank ya put tha white stuff in the soda bottle and shake it up first." And boom.

First, one of them (Alek Skarlatos) barely avoided being at Umpqua Community College on the day of a mass shooting. He was in LA participating in Dancing with the Stars.

Now, the second (Spencer Stone) gets stabbed on the streets of Sacramento.

Watch the USA implode, World.

in a public way to the global spotlight and hailed as "a hero" (which he definitely was), then feels obligated to intervene in violent exchanges, anywhere and everywhere, of which they would not otherwise have been a party to. (There's probably an axiomatic expression that captures that kind of dynamic, but I hope I made my point.)

Hope he gets better.

that has a bit more information: http://www.sacbee.com/news/local/crime/article38180571.html

It sounds like it had nothing to do with being targeted or anything. He was involved in a dispute with a group of people outside a bar. The area where it happened is a nice area of midtown Sac. I visit this area for restaurants, etc. sometimes.
