Pennsylvania Senate OKs limits on union dues, PAC collection

Source: Herald Media-AP

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Legislation that would weaken the ability of public-sector labor unions to collect dues and political action committee contributions from members' paychecks narrowly passed the Pennsylvania Senate on Wednesday.

It is opposed by Gov. Tom Wolf.

The bill passed, 26-23, with only Republican votes in the GOP-controlled Senate. It did so without much fanfare now that it faces a veto from Wolf, a first-term Democrat who is supportive of labor unions.

Last year, heavy opposition from organized labor brought out enough union members to pack the Capitol's Rotunda. At the time, then-Gov. Tom Corbett had said he would sign such legislation.

So it's okay for fake "charitable organizations" to collect unlimited amount to spend on a candidate's campaign, but union activity has to be regulated and limited?

If corporations can sue for lost profits on government action, seems only fair that workers should be able to sue the government for lost wages too!
