Although Mr. Trudeau has been prone to occasional verbal slips since assuming his leadership role in 2013, including the use of a vulgar metaphor in response to Mr. Harper’s decision to commit Royal Canadian Air Force fighters to the multinational campaign against the Islamic State, he has grown in stature over the course of the election.

But I suspect that Canada's Liberals = Bernie Sanders Democrats in the U.S.

Progressive Conservatives = Hillary Clinton Democrats

Conservatives = "Establishment" Republicans in the '60s and '70s

Reform Alliance = Boehner, Jeb Bush, and most other establishment Republicans today

Canadian Skinheads = the Tea Party and Freedom Caucus.

We just elected the Hillary Dems over the Tea party. The NDP were the Sanders camp, and they just got obliterated.

I had no idea the Progressive Conservatives had shifted that far to the right since the days of Joe Clark and Mulroney.

This isn't your father's Progressive Conservative party, is it.

And they dropped the "progressive" from the party name.... didn't want to be associated with people who could read and write or care about "ordinary" citizens. They're just conservatives now because being "progressive" means they might want to make things better. Can't have that in fuckwit Harper's government.

Cry me a river, asshole! Pierre Trudeau was defeated but had the balls to sit in Opposition and then regained the title of Prime Minister. You, you fucking coward, run away! You couldn't carry Trudeau's jockstrap, fuckwit!

That's a healthy majority, that should withstand any small-scale rebellions or by-election defeats (and the NDP and Cons are unlikely to agree on much anyway).

We hate political dynasties?

Or does that not apply if the dynastic successor is liberal enough?
