Black customer forced to prepay for meal files $100K discrimination lawsuit

An African American man who says he was asked to pay for his meal before dining at a Washington state restaurant—unlike white diners around him-- has filed a $100,000 discrimination suit against the chain.

Brian Eason, a real estate agent who also serves as a deputy with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, went to the Vancouver, Wash. location of Elmer’s—a pacific Northwest chain of diners—on Dec. 16, 2014, reports The Oregonian.

After ordering from the waitress, she “demanded that he prepay for his meal,” according to the lawsuit.

"I was kind of curious about it and said 'Well, is that new?' And she said 'Yes, we had a few walk-aways and my boss asked me to ask for prepayment," Eason told The Oregonian on Wednesday.

I'm not saying this specific case is not discriminate, but I've been asked to prepay even when wearing business clothes. Once, a restaurant made me turn over my drivers license. WTF.

I wanted to read the entire story so I went to the Fox site.

Then I read the comments.

Then I had to sit for a few minutes.

The comments from Fox readers are so disgusting it makes me want to call myself anything except American. How can there be so much ignorant hatred in this country?
Their guns and their religion...no, that's not all they cling to. They cling to a profound hatred of anything they don't understand. Black people, brown people, gay people, Asian people, intelligent people...

I don't know what will save this country. Perhaps as the balance tips and people of color become the majority a more accepting nation will evolve. Perhaps as humans become pets of the machines and reason and logic take over this nation may have a chance at survival.

Right now, all I see is a cesspool of hate. And Fox is right there spewing it out along with the other haters, the false prophets.
