Retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson on Tuesday expressed his support for a growing contingent of governors who are against allowing Syrian refugees into the United States — but he shared an incorrect graphic of the lower 48 states in the process.

Carson's campaign shared the botched map, which transposed much of New England above New Hampshire, on Twitter and Facebook.

"I am standing with the 31 Governors who are fighting to keep our nation safe," the Facebook post, which has since been deleted, read. "We do not currently have the means to adequately vet the thousands of refugees that the Obama Administration wants to bring into the United States."

I agree with those suggesting that this had to be intentional. No way does one draw up a bad map of the USA when every image search on Google gets it right.

We now know that one of Carson's foreign policy advisors openly thinks he's a fool. Doesn't strike me as far-fetched that others involved in his campaign feel that way and had some fun.

Every clip art package sold in the US today has a map of the United States in it. Most of the maps are pretty good - MUCH better than the one Carson's bunch came up with. All ye need do to make a map like he WANTED, is to click on the individual states and make them the color you want.

It seems like Carson is telling the New England states they won't matter if he takes the White House.
