Man killed in Manhattan elevator on New Year’s Eve pushed woman to safety before being crushed ...

A heroic 25-year-old man [Stephen Brown], after shoving a woman to safety from a plunging Lower East Side elevator, was fatally crushed inside the car before 10 horrified witnesses late Thursday.

Jiminez believes aspiring musician Brown was trying to jump from the car when he tripped and fell about 10 minutes before midnight.

The 26-story building had three open violations for “failure to correct defects” in the elevator doing back to 2012, according to Department of Buildings records.

“I tried to help the guy, but he was between the elevator and the building door,” said witness Manuel Coronado, 23. “He was saying ‘I can’t breathe.’ I tried to pull him up, but he said ‘Leave me here, leave me here.’”

in order to help another human being.

It never should have had to come to that.

He has awakened everyone sane who hears his story.

Some people are here just to make our lives better. So sad that he's gone before he really got to live.
