U.S. Special Operations Forces Attacked in Afghanistan Near Marjah, Officials Say

Source: NBC News

An unknown number of U.S. Special Operations Forces were killed or wounded in two separate incidents in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, American defense officials told NBC News.

The forces were involved in a counter-terrorism operation in Helmand province when they came under attack, according to the officials, who said an unknown number of Americans were wounded in that incident.

The officials said a U.S. medevac chopper called in to recover casualties came under mortar and small-arms fire. It was not clear if the helicopter had been hit by enemy fire or whether any casualties were sustained in the landing zone, the officials added, speaking on condition of anonymity.

A spokesman for the NATO coalition in Afghanistan earlier told NBC News that a U.S. helicopter had "landed" in Helmand province and was "experiencing mechanical problems."

It doesn't say if they got them out, or if they had to dig in and wait for backup.

After the Taliban (or ISIS) take over there will be a bloodbath.

We better not leave those people behind.
