(2,148 posts)Is there outrage? Is the legislature considering any action?
Are they even aware of what earthquakes are? I see who they vote for there and can only assume they are very under educated so they may not even be aware of tectonics unless it's to mistake it for a cheap electronics manufacturer.

(1,579 posts)sick of this. Two of those last night rattled my house. Our Corporation Commission has sued Sandridge Oil because they have defied an order to stop using injection wells in the area. Sandridge has decided they will pay fines rather than stop. Remember, we have a Governor, Mary Fallin, who has her head up the asses of the oil industry. But, you're right. These cretins reelected her.

(181 posts)telling me that no one in OK voted for Obama and now they have the 10 commandments posted everywhere and prayer in school. Obviously god isn't working to stop the earthquakes.

(10,565 posts)Oil and gas industry, insurance companies will NOT cover earthquake damage. So no point in adding earthquake coverage to your homeowner's policy. To add icing to the cake, a month or two two back I got a notice from my CAR insurance company that they also will not cover earthquake damage due to "activities of the oil and natural gas industry" or similar language.
Oh, but I'm sure it will be real easy to file a claim with the fucking frackers when your chimney falls off or your house is cleaved in two, and they will be happy to pay for the damage...

(5,309 posts)including me. Protests and constant communications with state officials who are so beholding to the energy companies here are basically "stonewalling" it. It is reported on our news media without any value placed on their occurrences other than their magnitude and frequency. We are destroying ourselves for the quick riches that has always been the modus operandi of the oil and gas crowd. The land is being cracked open and filled with toxic waste and the powers to be are avoiding dealing with it. We have an overabundance of wind and sun in this state and could still be an energy provider but the Sandridges, Devons, and Chesapeakes of this state are politically immune to correction or legal action. So yes the outrage exists among some of the public but there is no official outrage. That will come when we have fracked that last bit of oil and gas from under us and our water will be poisoning us.

(9,664 posts)Gov. Snyder, MI.-R, wants to exchange the a Flint River water for the fracking water.
He says, that the lead in the water from the river will settle those quakes and the fracking water is cleaner than what he supplied for Flint's residents.
I jest of course.

(5,562 posts)All it does is list the magnitude and time of the quakes.
I feel for you. We have a nutty government here in BC who thinks to make us rich by fracking, and they are causing some quakes up in north eastern BC. The premier signed an agreement with a corrupt company out of Indonesia and the only thing saving us right now is that there is little to no market for for what we have.
We just had a 4.9 earthquake here although a natural one and not caused by fracking. It shook the house and cracked our sewer line. I can't imagine living with them on a steady basis, especially when you know they are caused by nothing more than greed and corruption.
