WATCH LIVE: Trump holds sold-out rally in Vermont
Source: The Hill
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump made multiple headlines before ever setting foot in Vermont for tonights highly anticipated rally in Burlington.
Despite releasing over 20,000 tickets for an event that seats just 1,400, the real estate moguls campaign said the rally quickly sold out.
With Bernie Sanders 2016 headquarters just down the block, reports of a massive protest planned by the Democratic presidential candidates supporters prompted a lockdown of the Flynn Center, with security instructed to let in only Trump voters.
I'm taking care of my people, not people who don't want to vote for me or are undecided," Trump told Burlington Free Press. "They are loyal to me, and I am loyal to them."

(7,605 posts)Sorry. Still not a good enough reason.
But the grass is still growing this warm winter.
The sea of choosing to watch a live stream of a T-Rump rally makes me barf. It's already hard enough to avoid his cretinous presence,

(6,960 posts)I'm kind of a political junkie ... I can't help it.
What I'm seeing is that actually Trump is getting better in his delivery and, at least tonight, he seems to be a bit less bellicose.
The usual 'protester' ... I think the Trump campaign hires these people, it's part of the show. What a disappointment if you stand in line for hours for this event and you don't get to see Trump put down a protester?

(150 posts)Was watching MSNBC right at dinner time and the minute Trump came on I switched the channel. (Hmmm. that's beginning to be a habit with me.) Ah, what a relief not to have to listen to all that political crapola spewing from Trump's big loud mouth.

(5,168 posts)or (name your favorite band here), for a venue that seated 1,400, wouldn't you get arrested and thrown in jail?

(3,118 posts)Free tickets are many times not used. In Vermont, I would think there'd be a concern that free tickets would be taken with the intent of not being used, leaving more vacant seats in the venue than normal.
By handing out such a large quantity of tickets, they insured a packed house. As with any General Admission event, the first to arrive are the ones that get the seats. Hope they had an overflow spot available somewhere.

(11,093 posts)I had to look up the article to see where the event was held. There's no way in hell you're fitting 20,000 people into the Flynn theatre.

(4,423 posts)crowd in VT ? If this is celebrity trolling then maybe I get it, but he certainly isn't a believable serious politician. Side note to Hillary supporters unlike Trump, Bernie's crowds of support are the real deal supporting him because he is the most electable in a GE....

1,400 might be the number of potential Trump supporters. And the remaining 18,600 are not.
The Flynn Theatre is a small venue where I used to see blues shows. And could have seen Bob Marley before he was known if I wasn't so dumb. But it sure as shit isn't 20,000. That would be half the population of the town nowadays.
