In Ironic Twist, the Bundy Militia Just Got Confronted by a Competing Group of Armed Lunatics

Source: USnewsUncut

Ammon Bundy’s gang finally has the armed confrontation they’ve been preparing for. Just not with whom they were expecting.

As of Saturday evening, a group calling itself the Pacific Patriot Network descended on the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, Oregon, just as Bundy’s group was finishing a press conference. According to The Oregonian, Joseph Rice, a spokesman representing the new group of armed men, is presenting the Bundy militia with “Articles of Resolution,” ordering them to end the standoff and return to their homes.

What’s in the document the group presented to Bundy’s gang is unclear, as the Pacific Patriot Network is, so far, refusing to speak to media, citing a “media blackout.”

Other reports claim the heavily-armed group isn’t siding with either the current militiamen occupying the wildlife refuge or with government agencies. Nobody at the refuge had been informed of the Pacific Patriot Network’s intention to come to the occupation before their arrival on Saturday.

Stupid nuts, the lot of them. Why is the FBI allowing anyone in?! I thought they had closed the roads getting in and out of there. They need to cut off reinforcements and supplies to end this quick. Some of those guys look like they might could live off the land, but most of them don't. That one guy that keeps getting pictured looks more Golden Corral than corral. The bad guys are actually holding press conferences. That shouldn't happen in an armed standoff with the FBI. IF they were anything other than white, the funerals would be over by now.

not know about "the ways" (the culture, the set-up, how people do things) out that way. It's as foreign to me as another country.

Maybe they're sliding in someone under deep cover, to get more info?

It does APPEAR that there is a difference in treatment--remember the standoff in Philadephia eons ago? There was no chatting, jollying, etc.

I'm not suggesting they do THIS kind of ghastly thing--but the disparity in treatment is obvious:

http://www.democracynow.org/2015/5/13/move_bombing_at_30_barbaric_1985

They could, though, prevent them from running to Walmart for bullets and snacks, and force them to smell their own poops or go out in the woods because there's no water...!

Our guns are peaceful, your guns are not. Things are getting a bit muddled.

snip from the article>

“Ammon [Bundy] felt blindsided,” Todd Macfarlane, an attorney mediating the dispute between the Bundys and the Pacific Patriot Network told The Guardian. “This was not a welcome development. We are trying to de-escalate here – then boom, they all show up.”

John Pratt, who joined the occupation after driving from Utah, told The Guardian the group was a “third party” who “do not represent the Bundys.”

“We’ve got this image with long guns – that is not what we want,” Pratt said. “If they’re coming to keep the peace, I would’ve left the guns behind.”

According to The Guardian, the Pacific Patriot Network was originally invited by Pete Santilli, a right-wing talk radio host, who wanted additional security on site to keep the peace, since local officials were clearly not getting involved.

this story hit the interwebs. This is in my neck o' the woods, a couple of those brainchildren are from right up the road in both directions. And I have been keeping an eye on this sort of stuff for many years, one of my graduate advisor's pet topics.

I expect that patience is going to prove itself as the best option in this issue. All the crackpots will out themselves eventually and the only shots fired will likely be more like a family feud than a standoff with the evil gubbamint who can sweep up the last ones standing.

I think you are correct, but this is a festering infection that has been going on for quite a while, and that is largely ignored except for people like you and the Southern Poverty Law Center. I was a prosecutor for a few years in the 90s and we would occasionally get defendants affiliated with the Posse Comitatus movement. You could always identify their canned legal briefs by their "interesting" analyses of law. I remember someone who was fighting an infraction for skateboarding on the sidewalk and whose brief cited the Magna Carta and the Bible, and requested a transfer to Admiralty Court to adjudicate the matter under Maritime Law (I am not creative enough to make this stuff up!). These particular crackpots will go home, but the infection will continue to fester until our government takes them as seriously as it does any other criminals or terrorists. They are highly armed, largely prepared for a war against the government or at least for the Apocalypse (except for maybe bringing enough snacks) and committed. It is just a matter of time before one of these groups starts something and it all explodes.

The possibility for this to go south in a hurry is my greatest concern. It's best if they eat their own and/or show what a confused lot they are so the citizens who are capable of thinking with see that they need to be corrected in some fashion. The longer these dudes mess with some other community's income and credibility, the more opposition in the general population they will foment.

Glad it's far enough away to allow me the luxury of bystander with a pretty good seat.

Why aren't they arrested when they leave the compound ? I cannot remember anything like this ever happening before. I get that they don't want any shooting. Once the shooting starts, they will probly kill all of them. But when a criminal is driving down the road , you stop the criminal and arrest him. And why the hell haven't they turned off the power ? This thing is turning into a comedy of errors. Eventually, its going to get ugly.
