Christie defends LePage after racially charged remarks
Source: Portland Press Herald
Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie called Maine Gov. Paul LePages racially charged remarks this past week offensive, but said the governors apology should be accepted, NBC News reported Saturday afternoon.
It doesnt change a bit for me my affection for him, my respect for him, as a leader and as a person, and hes a good man. And hes apologized, the New Jersey governor said in an interview that will air Monday morning on the MSNBC show Morning Joe, NBC reported.
On Wednesday at a town hall meeting in Bridgton, LePage said out-of-state drug dealers were selling heroin in Maine, and half the time before they leave impregnate a young white girl. LePage has said he should have said Maine women.
LePage endorsed Christies run for president last year, shortly after the New Jersey governor entered the race. Democrats have called on Christie to repudiate LePages remarks and possibly renounce the endorsement.

(50,986 posts)Republicans drive all the final nails into Christie's coffin.
It's a campaign that never should have been undertaken in the first place. It claims no vision or purpose. There is no soul to the idea of a Chris Christie candidacy. There's only the ambition of Chris Christie, presenting himself to voters as a unprincipled lout.

(11,605 posts)As much as I agree with everything you said, if you compare him to Cruz and Trump he might be the least offensive. That shows you just how bad their choices actually are.

I can give her my rapt attention and listen loyally to her compositions. But it is nowhere near enough compared to what she's given me.
I love Joni Mitchell! She came out of an amazing era of music.
