Oregon rancher says cow 'mutilated' overnight in field

Source: The Oregonian

STANFIELD — An Oregon rancher awoke last week to discover that someone had shot, killed and butchered one of his cows.

The Capital Press reports that rancher Terry Anderson said his 2-year-old heifer was slaughtered sometime Thursday night in a field near Stanfield.

Anderson said the cow was "basically mutilated," with its body parts strung out over the field. He suspects the culprits were trying to make money off the meat but left most of the carcass to waste.

A neighbor told him they heard a commotion about 10:30 p.m. Anderson believes at least three people were involved based on the tracks.

Is it weird that my first thought was, "Do a rape kit on the cow and check it for dildos"?

Many migrant workers are employed around there, and many more pass through.

and if you run your cows close to a road, you will get rustled. And they take only the primal cuts and leave the rest.

The rancher does not care about the cow. He only cares about the money he makes exploiting the cow.
