LePage: ‘Bring the guillotine back’ and other radio highlights
Source: Bangor Daily News
Gov. Paul LePages weekly radio interview on WVOM has become a bombastic, must-listen lately, and Tuesdays appearance was no different.
The Republican governor repeated a version of remarks on drug dealers the Morning Sentinel said he delivered at a recent speech in Waterville, saying legislative proposals to increase sentences for traffickers didnt go far enough.
He said the death penalty should be appropriate for people who kill Mainers and in my opinion, we should give them an injection of the stuff they sell.
After that, an unprompted LePage said what we ought to do is bring the guillotine back. He laughed, then said, We could have public executions and we could even have which hole it falls in. (I dont know what the latter means.)

(14,400 posts)his usual verbal fuckup of an old joke. It has something to do with using execution as a way to balance the State budget. You use a guillotine and under the head is a version of the Price Is Right Plinko board. People can bet on which slot the head falls into.
I know, funny right

(13,088 posts)That is rich coming out of the mouth of a tea bagger.
Laughs at the thought of enjoying a good old public execution by guillotine.
Wants to make a carnival game out of which basket the head lands in.
The party of insanity are in control of this country.
They are truly frightening and evil through and through.

(213 posts)Sadly, only about 50% turned out to vote during his first election. So, effectively, though he received 38% of the vote, it was actually 19% of those who could have voted. I don't know what he received in his re-election. Both elections were three way splits. I'm embarrassed to have him as governor of our fine state. A perfect example of why it is so important to get out the vote.

He asked for the same thing as you. What a stupid thing to wish for.
