Bernie Sanders slams Clinton at Iowa rally with Susan Sarandon

MASON CITY, Iowa Bernie Sanders critiqued fellow Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during a Mason City rally, chastising her for fundraising instead of campaigning in Iowa on Wednesday night.
"My opponent is not in Iowa tonight. She is raising money from a Philadelphia investment firm," Sanders said. "Frankly, I would rather be here with you."
At the Music Man Square, Sanders fired against Clinton, saying that her campaign is "in trouble" as his poll numbers rise before the Iowa caucus Monday. The latest Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll shows Clinton and Sanders virtually tied, with Clinton slightly leading. A recent Quinnipiac poll shows Sanders 4 points ahead.
Needless to say, our opponents are not all that enthusiastic about that reality, Sanders said, about potentially winning the Iowa caucus. One of the things they say, 'Bernie Sanders, nice guy, interesting ideas, but he just could not win a general election.'

(70,200 posts)it is the media's title--just that the wording is a bit off.

(10,345 posts)Does any candidate really "slam" another? Did Bernie jump off the wrestling ring ropes and literally slam anyone? Did he show Hillary up in a game of basketball? No.
Other buzzwords I dislike: destroys, eradicates, annihilates, demolishes, etc...
All sensationalism.

Perhaps Sanders should have said "she's not in Iowa at this moment"?

(5,902 posts)Bernie was eloquent and scholarly as always, although he seemed a little out of sorts (I guess I would too if I were 74 and campaigning for President while keeping an 80% Senate attendance record).
Can you tell me where I can catch his future appearances live? I looked and couldn't a source for real-time feeds.
Thank you.

(41,131 posts)soon after I heard about the rally. It came up as a YouTube video.
Pres. Debates are broadcast and livestreamed by major networks of course. For Bernie interviews on cable programs- CNN, MTP, MSNBC, the clips can be found on their website usually the next day. His campaign rallies I typically look for the next day on google, or someone posts here.
Also, look for posts with *livestream LINKS to watch impt. events noted here in the GD-P section.

(5,902 posts)Amazingly the same link I used to view the Mason City, IA, event didn't have today's event (I forget where it was).
I'll make sure to look for them in the GD-P section, as you suggested.
Thank you, Appalachiablue.
