Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton rallies supporters in Des Moines ahead of Monday’s Iowa caucuses. (Gromer Jeffers Jr.)

Looking to energize her base before Monday’s critical Iowa caucuses, Hillary Clinton said Friday that Democrats have moved the country forward and Americans should not return to the failed Republican policies of the past.

“We’re on the right path,” Clinton said during a rally in Des Moines. “We just have to stay with it and believe we can do it.”

Clinton said the presidential terms of her husband, Bill Clinton, as well as Barack Obama, put the economy on the right track and helped average Americans.

She said Republicans were too negative and had the wrong ideas. She urged the crowd to demand that their elected leaders aim high......................
