NASCAR CEO Brian France, some drivers endorse Donald Trump for president

Source: USA Today

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump picked up a few more endorsements Monday, this time from the NASCAR world.

NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France appeared at a rally in Valdosta, Ga., to express support for Trump along with NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott and drivers Chase Elliott, Ryan Newman and David Ragan.

“If the people that like and watch NASCAR vote for Donald Trump, they can cancel the election right now,” Trump said to cheers. “Nobody else can win. Nobody.”

After Trump introduced France as a man who has done a “legendary” job for NASCAR, France took the microphone briefly to praise a man he’s known for more than 20 years.

What southern stereotypes again?

I don't see many minorities flocking to NASCAR events.

The 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Mike Dukakis, the first U.S.-born member of his family, during his campaign, the country singer Loretta Lynn pointed out that Dukakis was simply not her kind of politician…. "Why, I can't even pronounce his name!'"

Crap like that and RW attack ads gave us Bush1 after Reagan in' 88

If you sponsor someone stupid enough to voice support for such a highly controversial candidate, I simply will note which products I will no longer purchase.

Oh yeah, Hey France!

follow suit. To watch 40 or so rednecks driving 500 miles in a circle turning left need either hard drugs or a lot of hard booze.

Not.

It's all of a piece.

Peripherally: Can't help but notice that (again, of a piece) for the sake of climate change and the (chuckle) future, that NASCAR continues their races unabated, for the sake of profit and merchandising opportunities for a tiny handful of people (especially compared to unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions). In my view, all racing w/internal combustion engines should end.

It helps that no institution of government has the authority to shut it down.

Groundhog Day in America - about to become Groundhog Year.

Not surprised there is no mention of Xfinity 2015 Rookie of the Year Daniel Suarez. Or maybe he just forgot that NASCAR also has a series in Mexico?

following his initial entry into the race. Apparently, they've now decided that it's totally fine and dandy to be completely tied into the racism and xenophobia.

the goal of any pro sports is to put eyes on the tubes and butts in the seats.

go out of your way not to offend anyone...bad move by them.
i tend to follow nascar. watch the races when they are on.
no races in an easy drive for me so i do not buy tickets and do not own race car stuff
