Bill O’Reilly Loses Custody of Kids in Unanimous Court Ruling

Source: Yahoo.com

Fox News Host Bill O’Reilly will lose residential custody of his children following a New York appeals court ruling last week.

The The Nassau County Supreme Court ruling upheld a lower-court decision that the kids, ages 13 and 17, should live with the Fox News Channel host’s ex-wife, Maureen McPhilmy, according to court documents.

O’Reilly and McPhilmy divorced in 2011 and have been battling for custody ever since. The lengthy ruling was finally rendered on Feb. 24.

“There is a sound and substantial basis for the Supreme Court’s determination that it is in the best interests of the children for the mother to be awarded primary residential custody,” the ruling says.

From the linked article:
"The preference of O’Reilly’s 17-year-old daughter is not particularly difficult to guess:
she told a court-appointed forensic examiner that she witnessed O’Reilly drag her mother down a staircase by the neck.
... she also viewed O’Reilly as a temperamental, absentee parent who was uninterested in developing a relationship"

one who makes him act like that. She is incompetent and unworthy, only he is good enough between the two of them. (That is the typical thinking of an abuser).

The second reason is more sadistic in nature. The abuser probably relishes the thought of her (and maybe even the kids) being so unhappy when they're apart. It also gives him control over the ex if he has custody. He can continue to manipulate her and mentally abuse her if he has control of the kids.

Bill O'Reilly is definitely a sick man, I hope his children get the help and support they need (ditto the wife)

I have no love for O'Reilly, but you are correct, the story must deal with facts and evidence.

but like you, none of it is conclusive so I figured I had best own up to using a bad source that is accusing him of something there is no proof of.

There is ample proof of him being a low down asshole as it is, no need for me to sink to his level and accuse people of things they haven't done (or can't be proven)

"Some people say" is one of his ways to smear people.

I'll just say, up front and center, that he's an asshole I have no need of nebulous people to validate my opinion!

They're at the age of election and I'm certain they were consulted about who they wanted to be with.

Barring any parental traits that would be a physical danger to the children, the children's say carries a lot of weight in court, and why shouldn't it? They know the parents better than anyone.

Bill O’Reilly Accused of Domestic Violence in Custody Battle

His children stated they wanted to live with their mother, but instead of doing what was best for them, he insisted on trying to punish his ex-wife by fighting for custody. A decent father would have accepted his children's decision and tried to build a better relationship with them, not drag them through an ugly court battle.
