Bernie Sanders Wins Minnesotas Democratic Caucus
March 1, 2016 10:26 PM
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) CBS News has projecting a win for Bernie Sanders in Minnesotas Democratic Caucuses.
The Vermont Democrat beat Hillary Clinton to take the largest share of the states available delegates. Sanders had put a sharp focus on Minnesotas contest, making several stops in the days before the Tuesdays vote.
The DFL party chair said only a handful of precincts ran out of ballots and that, despite the very heavy turnout, voting was orderly.
The long lines curled into the 14 separate caucuses at St. Pauls Central High School. Gov. Mark Dayton was among those who braved the lines, filling out his ballot for Clinton, on whose behalf he campaigned.
Anyone who was in line as of 8 p.m. was allowed to vote, so DFL officials say it could be awhile before all the ballots are counted.

(5,668 posts)I probably haven't felt this good about Bernie since January. He kicked some serious ass even in Mass where ol Bill Clinton went Boston cheating by blocking the vote. Did he block 20,000 votes I have no idea. he went to 3 spots took up 4 hours who knows. but 4 states where most odds had him winning just his home state and maybe CO. He's rocking not to mention he picked up some good delegates in states his lost , wasn't a landslide in some. Still less than 200 delegates between them (not counting the fake delegates)

(502 posts)Well, well, well. Bill Clinton's (aka "THE BIG DAWG's" ) alleged last-minute heavy-handed tactics didn't put the state in the bag for HRC after all.
Power to the people! People.

(7,006 posts)OK, CO, MINN and VT -- and it was "thisclose" in MASS so it's basically a wash.
Now it is time for MICHIGAN -- We need to bring Bernie a HOME RUN. Guess We'll be PHONE BANKING tomorrow. #FeelTheBern #GotBerniesBack
Bernie must remember NATFA, NATFA, NAFTA and hit her HARD on it during Sunday's Debate.
FACT: If Flint, Michigan still had Buick City/General Motors Plant -- which used to be GM's LARGEST PLANT in the USA -- then Flint would have likely been financially solvent, would have avoided as a result Rick Snyder's "Emergency Managers" and easily could have REMOVED THE LEAD PIPES long time ago.
But -- the worse happened and NATFA is most definitely the blame. We are writing our first blog post in a month tomorrow on this very issue -- What NAFTA did to Michigan; Legislation that Bill Clinton Signed Into Law". Once it's done, we will place a link in the Bernie Group .

(17,656 posts)Despite the claim by a certain DU member that shall go nameless that Bernie wasn't actively trying to win in Minnesota, it seems Bernie got out the vote.
