After a Year in Space, Soyuz Carrying Scott Kelly Lands on Earth
Source: ABC News
Scott Kelly's pioneering year of living at the International Space Station is coming to an end today when the American astronaut gets inside a Russian Soyuz spacecraft and heads back to Earth.
This is Kelly's fourth mission, bringing his lifetime total to 520 days in space. The year-long mission is designed to measure the impact of space travel on Kelly's body. NASA will then compare those results to his identical twin brother, retired astronaut Mark Kelly. It's expected the "Twin Study" will yield new insights that can help inform a future mission into deep space.

(10,098 posts)I've been following Commander Kelly on this mission all year long. He's great one Twitter and posted a lot of cool pictures and NASA TV has some good videos. I could tell near the end here he was getting tired of all the pressers from space, getting asked the same questions over and over. One I never heard him get asked, which I'm sure he was asked, was how the heck he shaves his chrome dome every day. I'm glad they are back safe.
Peace

(15,220 posts)I enjoyed his videos, his pictures, etc. Seems like an all around nice guy as does his brother.
Glad to have Scott and the two other astronauts back on Mother Earth.
