The RW will be coming out in droves to vote against Clinton.

But to throw a wrench in there, I think that if the R's try and get someone in there to run against Trump, he will immediately pull out and run as a third party candidate. He will certainly threaten them with that.

I imagine he is going to try to get some influence and credibility by endorsing someone.

Nikki Haley, Christie, etc are all just trying to look out for themselves and their political futures; they don't give a rat's ass about what's best for the country or they wouldn't be Republicans in the first place.

On the one hand, I want him as the candidate because he is a joke and could never get elected and that means we hold onto the White House.
On the other hand, I thought the same thing about a guy named Reagan when he first ran in 1976, and we know how that ended up.

I don't think he could win, but God help us if he did.

Just that he would discuss the race. Pretty vague.

But if he runs it will be as a third party candidate. He can still get on the ballot in all states, but it will be tight in TX. You need an obscene number of signatures (~30k) and the deadline s in April I think. At least one other state has a similar challenge, but it's doable.

If he runs, he has to start now. Waiting for a convention decision is too late.

Personally, I don't think it will be him. He knows he can't win a 3-way race, and I doubt he really wants to play spoiler.

Romney to deliver speech on 2016 race

What does the 2012 Republican nominee have to say? He’s spent the last week slamming Trump on Twitter. Now the Romney shop has e-blasted reporters to announce the speech.

Kasich and Rubio are non-starters. Jeb got no voter love. They hate Trump and Cruz. Frantic phone calls all night from RNC to Mittens looking for a savior, a Hail Mary pass to unfuck the huge fuck up the R race has turned into.

If the establishment throws its weight behind Mitt, expect blowback of enormous proportions from Trump and his minions. This could be one for the ages.

I'm guessing they'll serve up Ryan. He says he's not willing to run, but he said that about being speaker. He tends to play hard to get. I'm guessing he took the speakership with the promise he'd be served up in a brokered convention so he could avoid the feces-flinging.

Romney's not getting in. He's just going to make an impassioned (if you can tell) plea for repubs to support anyone but Trump in the hopes it will rally enough voters to come out in states like Florida and Ohio to deny him winner take all victories that would all but seal the deal.

55. White Horse Prophecy? That was mentioned when Willard ran last time I believe.
Wed Mar 2, 2016, 03:26 PM
Mar 2016

I know Wikipedia Just something quick for those who hadn't heard of it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Horse_Prophecy

The White Horse Prophecy is a statement purported to have been made in 1843 by Joseph Smith, Jr., founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, regarding the future of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and the United States of America. The Latter Day Saints, according to the prophecy, would "go to the Rocky Mountains and ... be a great and mighty people", identified figuratively with the White Horse described in the Book of Revelation. The prophecy further predicts that the United States Constitution will one day "hang like a thread" and will be saved "by the efforts of the White Horse".[1]

Some have speculated, on the basis of the White Horse Prophecy, that Mormons expect the United States to eventually become a theocracy dominated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).[2][3] The authenticity of the prophecy as a whole, which was not made public until long after Smith's death, is debated, and the leadership of the LDS Church has stated that "the so-called 'White Horse Prophecy' ... is not embraced as Church doctrine."[4] However, the belief that members of the LDS Church will one day need to take action to save the imperiled U.S. Constitution has been attributed to Smith in several sources and has been discussed in an approving fashion by Brigham Young and other LDS leaders.

Romney will try to appeal to Republicans and dissuade them from being in/joining Trump's camp.

Romney has no power with Trump supporters or the rabid base of the Republican party that is flocking to Trump. These are the same people who were pissed about Romney running for President in the first place. They didn't like him. Now, they probably see him as an even bigger tool bag.

Mitt Romney will be ineffective at whatever he's trying to do.
