Another member of the Bundy ranching family has been arrested for participating in a 2014 armed standoff in Nevada over grazing fees.
Briana Bundy said on Thursday that 38-year-old Dave Bundy was arrested Thursday by the FBI at a home he is building in Delta, Utah.
He is the son of Cliven Bundy, who was arrested last month on charges stemming from the standoff with federal officials in Nevada who were rounding up Bundy's cattle over unpaid grazing fees.
Another son, Ammon Bundy, was arrested last month for his role in the occupation of an Oregon wildlife refuge.

(17,064 posts)It appears a pretty big blow is being laid on the militia movement. About freakin time.
that it culminates into the come to Jesus moment they all so desperately need.
Waving guns around and trying to acquire land that doesn't belong to you should end up with a sentence in the penitentiary.

It is clearly their own doing, but it's like an entire generation is "wiped out".

(2,550 posts)I can feel it in almost any situation.
You're talking about people going to prison, families broken up, businesses and jobs lost.

(5,106 posts)I worked with "at risk" kids for quite a few years. These kids (and parents) had a choice in the system of productive summer jobs and classes to improve the learning disabilities that might be problems for them, versus juvenile (or further) criminal records. A couple of kids I'd had previous problems with as a frequent teacher in normal classes were good to work with because they had a chance of being paid and needing to shape up to do so. The saddest story involved a sixteen year old boy who was a major problem in regular classes, but was exceptionally receptive in our classroom situation No surprise to any educator, the need for individual attention is crucial... parental attention plays a big role but is often lacking for obvious matters of just making a living. In this situation, he was unable to resist terrorizing his young, and inexperienced "job" teacher. She kicked him out of the program. I'd never heard from his single mom in the past, but she called me then, hoping I could help because her son named me as a "fair teacher.' I couldn't...but believe me, I do know.

(5,106 posts)My point was meant to point out that even (often single) parents have problems raising their kids with the sensible values they hope to instill. The "crazies" out there, like the Bundys, are brainwashing their kids from birth. Some of those kids may later be exposed to critical thinking. The strength needed to alienate their families is a tough prospect after that.

So, are they sitting in their cells a-waiting for the patriot movement to come and spring them free?
How hard it must be to think you have god on your side and this happens.
