Team Romney explores blocking Trump at RNC

Washington (CNN)Mitt Romney has instructed his closest advisers to explore the possibility of stopping Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, a source close to Romney's inner circle says.

The 2012 GOP nominee's advisers are examining what a fight at the convention might look like and what rules might need revising.

"It sounds like the plan is to lock the convention," said the source.

Romney is focused on suppressing Trump's delegate count to prevent him from accumulating the 1,237 delegates he needs to secure the nomination.

The GOP elite doesn't like Trump, but a lot of people apparently do. I don't, but I'm appalled that all of these Republicans are running around trying to squash what (who) the people of their party apparently want. The party elites will then be able to select who they want to run in the GE. I am guessing that candidate will be RMoney.

When they have their preferred functionary, then the goal will be to keep the Democratic candidate in the GE below 270 EV's. It will put it into the House of Reps and they have enough states gerrymandered to select their functionary.

If they are successful, it will tear this country apart.

Is that Mittens has alot less power than he thinks. In his mind he must believe he left some sort of powerful legacy on national repugs.
